Assistant Professor in Mathematics, Tenure-Track position
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Vermont ( UVM ) seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor position in Mathematics, with an expected start date no later than August 18, 2025. We are particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to our existing strengths in combinatorics or applied mathematics.
The applicant must have an earned PhD in pure or applied mathematics (or a closely related area) by the time the position begins. Candidates should also demonstrate: a strong potential to conduct high-level and impactful research, the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, and the potential to supervise master’s and doctoral students. In addition to research and teaching, the applicant is expected to contribute to the missions of the department and university. A modest amount of service and academic advising is expected for this position.
