JOB SUMMARY
The College of Engineering at UConn seeks to hire an Educational Program Assistant 2 for the Center for Advanced Engineering Education office. The successful individual, under the direction of the UConn College of Engineering Center for Advanced Engineering Education Director, must be able to work independently to provide support and coordinate various administrative components of the Center’s programs. Knowledge of expenditure planning is essential, as is the ability to coordinate logistics of meetings, informational sessions, and workshops, prepare various narrative and informational reports for the team, provide student support, and perform other duties as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and coordinate administrative components of assigned projects, including expenditure planning and tracking.
Coordinate logistics of meetings, workshops, events, informational sessions, and interviews.
Create and update spreadsheets and files containing student enrollment and company data.
Handle the student registration process including all communication and reminders.
Serve as a resource to students on matters relating to admission, registration, and graduation.
Provide timely responses to ongoing prospective student inquiries.
Set up meetings and manage the calendar of their supervisor, including documenting notes for recurring meetings and coordinating travel as needed.
Assist with special payroll hiring process every semester.
Handling purchasing as needed.
Manage and track all controllable property.
Prepare various narrative and informational reports as requested.
Assist with the application process for non-degree students.
Perform other duties as may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and two to three years of experience in a responsible administrative support position.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with problem-solving skills.
Highly organized self-starter with excellent time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to efficiently prioritize workload.
Proficient in the use of all MS Office applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three to five years of experience in a responsible administrative support position.
Experience with financial record keeping, creating reports, and drafting correspondence with time sensitive data.
Familiarity with online account management systems for travel, purchasing, payroll, or student records.
Prior event planning experience.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time permanent position located on the Storrs campus. The University offers a full range of health/retirement benefits. Salary will be commensurate with candidate’s background and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
