Summary
The role of Demand Planner plays an integral role in contributing to GAF’s success. This individual will improve the planning and execution of GAF’s Supply Chain through collaborative and effective forecasting for key markets and products. This individual will develop and implement a demand planning strategy and process to meet business objectives while influencing inventory management recommendations.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategy and Process
Drive process creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and education for all demand planning activities across the entire GAF Commercial business, including Coatings and Siplast.
Drive best practices in Demand Planning aligned with the building materials industry
Develop and communicate the future vision of Demand Planning within GAF Commercial,includingtheidentificationandconsiderationofkeysystemsand processes
Ensure Demand Planning plays an important part in GAF’s overall aspiration of End to End planning, including alignment and key input to financial projections
Demand Forecasting:
Short/Mid Term
Responsible for developing, implementing, and publishing forecasts for all Commercial products and businesses. This includes primary manufactured product categories (i.e. TPO, PVC, Polyiso), Specialty products (i.e. RV, GAF Energy), and geographies (i.e. U.S. Regional, Canada, BMI). The scope could also include smaller volume product categories, along with 3rd-party purchased products.
Analysis of market data and sales pipeline information, along with collaboration with Sales & Marketing and other key business leaders, in order to drive to a consensus demand plan, is a key responsibility of this role.

Forecast horizons would focus on short-term (3 – 6 months) and mid-term (6 – 24 months) forecast projections and would be updated monthly.
Track, monitor, and update the forecast within the horizon based on actual volumes, quoting activity, and other key market intelligence.
Implement, track, and share appropriate metrics in the areas of forecast accuracy and inventory management to drive service level improvement, cost savings, and working capital performance.
Facilitate forecast review meetings for all products and business segments included in this role.
Act as the key Supply Chain liaison with the FP&A team to validate Commercial planning and forecasting activities are aligned with GAF’s financial goals and targets.
Long Term
Contribute to the alignment and collaboration of long-term demand projections for GAF Commercial (2 – 5 years).
Work in close alignment with Sales, Marketing and Finance to understand what key drivers will impact industry projections and how that translates to GAF demand.
Be the point contact of demand assumptions for strategic initiatives such as CapEx for increased capacity, infrastructure recommendations, supplier expansion, outsourcing recommendations, crewing and labor, transportation footprint, etc
Be the primary contact in relationships with external customers/partners to incorporate data to enhance the demand processes. Seek out and recommend new sources that will improve demand forecasting accuracy.
Customer Relationship:
Drive value through the Integrated Supply Chain and GAF by pursuing enhanced customer collaboration within end-to-end planning.
Improveutilizationofcustomerdataandfeedbacktoincreaseforecastaccuracy..
Establishaprojectplanandtimelineforextendingcustomercollaborationoutsideof the current state, and find ways to enhance visibility to end customer needs.
Under This Roof, We Require
A BA/BS/BE degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Finance, or Business
5 years of related experience in a Supply Chain/Logistics, Demand Planning, Analytics, and/or a high-volume manufacturing, distribution, and production planning environment.
Under This Roof, We Also Value
Building materials experience is preferred.
SAP and SAP IBP experience is desirable.
