Medical Assistant – Outpatient Clinic
Full Time – Bethpage; must be able to work one evening per week

CHARLES EVANS CENTER, INC. (CEC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing comprehensive medical, dental and mental health services. We provide care with excellence and compassion to historically underserved community members with limited incomes including those with chemical dependency and behavioral health concerns.
Our healthcare and adult services center enables CEC to provide the highest quality of care in an environment that reflects the respect and commitment we have for patients. It’s designed to promote the integration of medical and behavioral health disciplines to improve patient outcomes. Our team-based approach puts patients at the center of their care. Using the highest standard of medical care, we give patients the tools they need to achieve their best health.
We are currently seeking a full time Medical Assistant who can communicate professionally and is comfortable working in a medical environment. Candidates should be highly organized, have a strong customer service background and a welcoming/friendly demeanor.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and either:
Medical Assistant Certification
OR Two years of satisfactory experience as an assistant to a medical doctor in the examination and treatment of patients
Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
Strong communications and organizational skills
Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
Willing to learn medical software
Experience with medical records preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
Assist in obtaining medical history
Be an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within the scope of practice
Participate effectively in clinic activity.
Enhance patient experience by establishing rapport with patients.
Maintain detailed medical records.
Practice standard safety practices and precautions
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential
Provide exceptional customer service
The Charles Evans Center is licensed by the NYS Department of Health (DOH), the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and is supported by Nassau County Department of Human Services.
