Position Summary:

As an Ophthalmic Angiographer, you will play a vital role in the assessment and management of ocular diseases through specialized imaging techniques. This position involves performing and interpreting various angiographic procedures, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with retinal and other ocular conditions.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

Welcome and direct patients to their examination rooms.

Familiarize yourself with both new and returning patients, setting clear expectations for their visit.

Collect comprehensive medical histories, including the primary reason for the visit, family medical history, allergy information, and current medications.

Administer eye drops to dilate patients’ eyes when necessary for further assessments.

Conduct advanced eye tests such as FA, ICG, OCT (retinal layer imaging), fundus photography (back of the eye), IOLMaster (eye length measurement), Pentacam (corneal tissue analysis), A-Scan and B-Scan (ocular ultrasounds), and WaveScan (digital vision mapping prior to surgery).

Ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow to examination rooms.

Protect patient information and maintain confidentiality by accurately completing and securing medical records, as well as ensuring correct diagnostic and procedural coding.

Manage office inventory and confirm the receipt of supplies.

Ensure the proper functioning of office equipment, performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance as needed.

Keep necessary treatment supplies ready for potential patient reactions (e.g., EpiPen, Benadryl).

Engage in ongoing education by attending relevant classes and webinars, staying informed on industry best practices.

Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills

Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills

Strong customer service skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or one (1) year of specialized ophthalmic experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferred or enrolled within twelve (12) months of hire and completion within two (2) years of hire.

Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) required or completion within 45 days of hire

Work Schedule:

Monday, Thursday and alternating Tuesday/Friday each week

Travel Required: Smithtown, Riverhead and Port Jefferson

Hourly Pay Rate:

$27.50
