The Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook located on the beautiful campus of Stony Brook University is seeking a Full Time Line Cook to join our team. Our hotel has 135 guest rooms, over 3,800 sq. ft. of event space, and is home to our very own restaurant Northern Coast Kitchen & Cocktails.

Shift:

Must have availability to work weekends.

$21.00-$22.00 an hour based on Experience

What will I be doing?:

The Line Cook is a key member of our Food & Beverage team who is responsible for the execution of high-quality food in a consistent manner. Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced work environment, while maintain the organizational ability to identify and act quickly to prioritize tasks. The Line Cooks will assist the Executive Chef in preparing food for all food outlets on the property. Line Cooks will also perform other related tasks to food preparation and kitchen sanitation/cleanliness as directed by the Executive Chef.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate should have one year as a restaurant cook, previous culinary training, and certified in food handling and food safety sanitation requirements. A pleasant attitude and outgoing personality, the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, strong verbal communication, and excellent time-management skills. You must demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to understand guest service needs and the ability to work cohesively with co-workers and other departments as part of a team.
