Senior Postdoctoral Associate

Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Pharmacology, Toxicology or a closely related field in hand by January 2025. Three years of research experience in RNA modification in metal carcinogenesis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in studying functional RNA modifications, cancer stemness, metal carcinogenesis and excellent skills in culturing mammalian cells, and experience of working with mice.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Senior Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator
Dr.Chengfeng Yang in the department of Pathology and Stony Brook Cancer Center. The incumbent will independently and/or with colleagues conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The incumbent will assist the Principal Investigator with the supervision and management of the lab.

The qualified candidates are expected to be highly self-motivated with strong interests in learning new knowledge and techniques; have excellent communication and organizational skills and attention to details; be capable of conceptualizing, designing experiments and conducting studies independently as well as cooperatively with other lab members as a team; and have the capability to write manuscripts for quality publications.

Carry out independent and/or teach research in the field of RNA modification and metal carcinogenesis. Will design and develop the research experiments to achieve research goals.

Analyze and evaluate data, utilizing specialized techniques

Manuscript writing for publications in scientific journals. Oral presentation during lab meetings. May attend conferences and seminars.

Lab management, including oversight/supervision of Undergraduate and/or Graduate students, Research Technicians, or provide training in various research methods

Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
