OVERVIEW:

Provides behavioral services to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities related to the provision of positive behavioral supports. Completes Functional Behavioral Assessments, develops Behavior Support Plans and other behavioral interventions as needed. Evaluates challenge areas and offers recommendations and positive approaches to assist with the development of new skills to help enhance the person’s quality of life. Provides training, modeling, and coaching in the implementation of behavioral interventions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Completes Functional Behavioral Assessment for individuals on assigned caseload

Monitors & measures outcomes of interventions, and revises planning and training approaches as needed to facilitate positive outcomes.

Provides consultation to participants’ families and other team members.

Attends/participates in all participants’ annual/semi-annual Life Plan review and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.

Writes six-month progress notes, noting any related behavioral concerns, positive progression, restrictions related to interventions/medications and the effectiveness of the current plan.

Responds to reportable events/incidents, as assigned or necessary.

Become or maintains status as an agency trainer for the OPWDD approved training curriculum of SCIP-R and/or PROMOTE.

Participate in instructing, enhancing, and developing staff training programs for employees.

Provide staff trainings related behavioral service including: Training on all written Behavioral Supports.

Complete all trainings as assigned.

Is an active participant on the Human Rights Committee and other committees, as assigned

Perform all other duties relevant to the position as assigned by supervisor.

Regular and reliable attendance is required.

ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in social work, a clinical or treatment field of psychology, applied psychology, or school psychology; OR

A National Board certification in behavior analysis (BCBA) and a Master’s degree in behavior analysis, or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology; OR

A New York State license in mental health counseling;

Ability to instruct and perform SCIP-R and PROMOTE.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Reliable transportation (NYS Drivers’ Licensed required).

Ability to work independently and motivate others.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. dead weight.

Maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS Monarch policy.
