Who will you be working with?
The Inventory Process Excellence Leader will be working with a team of experts when it comes to Supply Chain related processes, making sure that all Wabtec OPEX teams are following a standard, optimized and best practice procedures. This team is responsible for mapping the best practices, coaching the teams and auditing key business metrics.
How will you make a difference?
You will be responsible for expanding the coverage of the Inventory Operational Excellence team to Westinghouse sites while implementing best-in-class inventory forecasting processes. You will assist the Westinghouse sites in identifying and executing inventory optimization opportunities and communicating objectives strategy for alignment across the site. The goal is to continue to improve upon the operational 13pt turns at each site.
What do we want to know about you?
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Material Management, Supply Chain Finance, Purchasing, Sourcing, Operations, and/or Inventory Management.
Prior experience in Inventory forecasting & reduction or with Materials/Fulfilment teams preferred.
Strong understanding of Lean culture & Value Stream Mapping
Ability to problem solve and work with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional presentation skills and prior experience presenting to top business executives.
Prior experience in Inventory forecasting & reduction or with Materials/Fulfilment teams preferred.
Strong data analytics skills with prior experience in building Advanced Data Analytics models a plus.
Demonstrated ability to improve processes with sustained results.
Greenbelt preferred.
What will your typical day look like?
Partner with sites in developing Inventory Input/ Output forecasting models that would help the shops in visualizing future Inventory balance & 13-point Turns based on existing sales forecast.
Create a communication framework for shops to drive inventory discussions with senior leadership.
Setup annual blueprint rhythms to determine monthly Inventory target for the next year.
Implement regular Pacing rhythms (Monthly / Bi-Weekly / Weekly) for the shops to track Inventory performance against targets and communicate risks & opportunities with Senior Leadership.
Build Direct Material Forecasting model for WABTEC sites.
Track & review weekly direct material receipts against forecasts and basis and stay aligned with finance.
Establish Build/Sales alignment meeting with SIOP/Commercial leaders to ensure continuity between inventory forecasts and build/sales plans for the business.
Drive discussions with Local Finance team to understand the accounting policy when it relates to inventory – labor forecasting, COGS generation, reserves, FIFO & Standards, profit elimination, in-transit inventory, impact of Forex on Inventory.
Develop reports and Train shops on identifying various levers that can be used to optimize Inventory – Planning, Safety stock optimization, Excess & Zero Demand (EZDI – Slow Moving) management, Input control – PO Reschedules/ Cancels and Excess on Order, Input control – Order Modifiers, Input Control – PO Tail Management (Past due POs, POs beyond Lead Time), Manufacturing Lead-Time reduction, Supplier management (Vendor Managed Inventory, Consignment, Pull, etc.)
Setup a regular Inventory Optimization Cross-Functional review with site leadership, SIOP, Material, Fulfilment, Sourcing & Finance participation.
Partner with eCockpit team in ensuring site Inventory data (Balance & COGS) are accurately captured.
Participate in value stream mapping exercises and work-out across shops to create inventory reduction and materials/fulfilment process Improvement plans.
Enhance the current processes using data, such that they are compatible with the principles of lean and Demand Based Management (value, value stream, flow, 5S, and lean business model).
Provide support to the Focus 15 initiatives and help drive the one Wabtec culture.
