DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Title: Wireperson
Job Summary:
In this role you will perform complex assembly of cables and harnesses for low and high-power amplifiers following specific instructions from AR wire lists, workmanship practices manual, and AR cable procedures manual. You will also perform rework of all harnesses and cables as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Route and lace complex harness assemblies using a prepared harness board
Cut and manufacture coaxial and semi-rigid cable assemblies
Verify electrical accuracy of harnesses before submitting to End Item Production using the Cable Eye Harness Tester when applicable.
Document suggested improvements using Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and submit to supervisor for approval.
Aid in creating run lists from a point-to-point wire list.
Create new programs on the Cable Eye Harness Tester for any new harnesses.
Assist Test department by fixing and/or correcting test fixture harnesses and cables as required.
Develop a working knowledge of BOMs, wire lists and run lists.
Acquire materials from stockroom in accordance with Stockroom policies.
Submit marked up drawings, run lists and/or wire lists to the Supervisor with comments and suggested changes, when assembly is complete.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to use crimping devices, chop saw and Accu-strip machine
Must be able to distinguish between different colors and gauges of wire
Must demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical components and circuitry, and ability to follow assembly instructions.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (with assistance)
