Medical Laboratory Technologist – Norfolk, Virginia
ASCP Certification Required; 4 10-hour shifts
Job Description
MLT/MT Reports to department Supervisor/Manager/Director and is responsible for following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Under supervision, supports and assists with the provision of identified clinical services to enhance and maintain patient flow, services, and satisfaction.
Performs, assists, and is accountable for various clinical laboratory test procedures and ensures proper maintenance and operation of instrumentation.
Exercises professional judgment in the performance of laboratory procedures.
Provides patient care essential to laboratory procedures.
Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and reports to the provider.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Hard Skills
ASCP Certified is REQUIRED.
Degree in Microbiology preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, mathematics, hematology and serology at a level normally acquired through completion of an approved two year program.
Successful completion of a supervised clinical internship.

This is a fully on-site position in Norfolk, Virginia.
Work Environment
Working in the Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics lab.
Working four 10s with rotating shifts. Every other week includes a weekend shift.
