Job Title: Phlebotomist Supervisor

Job Description

The Phlebotomy Supervisor evaluates, trains, and schedules the day-to-day staffing of phlebotomists. Coordinate duties and assist with the interpretation and clarification of miscellaneous tests. Responsibilities include managing and scheduling daily staffing and emergency coverage, coordinating duties of phlebotomists, and acting as a consultant for unusual tests for customers. The role also involves conducting employee orientation and training, ensuring appropriate equipment and supply usage, following regulatory requirements, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the laboratory by performing nontechnical, educational, and administrative duties. The supervisor will review applications for new hires, recommend terminations, inform the manager of any issues, review employee performance six times per year, complete timesheets, and justify overtime hours.

Hard Skills

Phlebotomy Certified

5 years of supervisory experience managing 20 employees

Ability to Travel (farthest location is 1 hr away)

Experience with Cancer patients

Soft Skills

Ability to coordinate schedules resourcefully and creatively

Effective communication with internal and external clients

Understanding of fundamental phlebotomy procedures

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 5 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in NA, Virginia.

Work Environment

Brand new facility. Oncology patients. Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm. Some weekends and possible late evenings. Picking up and delivering equipment. 50% travel required to 9 sites, farthest is 1 hour away.
