Position Summary
This position will provide testing support to the Surgical R&D Analysis and Testing group and other cross-functional engineering and product development teams. Key activities include performing tests for various surgical medical devices and assisting with documentation and data capture. This individual must be an effective communicator, should possess strong test documentation skills and an awareness of medical device products/working in a regulated industry.
Principal Responsibilities
Follow Test Requests, Work Instructions and Protocols to execute feasibility testing and design verification testing
Record data generated from testing (Data collection and GDP)
Provide feedback on test methods for continuous process improvement
Support testing with component/sample sorting and preparation, data organization, set-up and clean-up
Assist in test method development and analysis to support root cause investigations (CAPAs, customer complaints, manufacturing issues)
Utilize and become highly proficient in the operation of lab equipment (Keyence Optical Microscope, Instron, CT scanner and SEM) to perform product testing
Continuously improve test methods, data collection methods, forms, process standardization, etc.
Provide other department support as requested by immediate supervisor or senior management.
This position requires direct contact with an implantable device
This position requires direct contact and handling of animal tissue
Education / Experience Requirements
2 years of experience in product testing (medical device preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Good Verbal and Written Communication
Prefer understanding of GMP / FDA / ISO work environment
Prefer understanding of ISO and ASTM testing methods for medical devices
Prefer understanding of the Design Control Process
