Summary/Objective
The Senior Electrician/Mechanic is responsible for maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures and systems in the buildings. This employee will also install, repair and maintain machines and mechanical components.
Essential Functions

Builds and assembles machines and mechanical components according to requirements.
Installs electrical wiring, conduits to house electrical wires and cables.
Performs routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate properly.
Runs diagnostic testing to discover functionality issues.
Inspects and troubleshoots problems with existing electrical systems.
Installs replacement parts on existing electrical/mechanical units.
Maintains inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
Directs the work of others who are called in to provide additional mechanical services.
Complete all assigned PMs within their due week.
Perform assigned inventory cycle counts for spare parts.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment and routinely uses highly specialized equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to noise, dust, and electrical current. The employee is subject to hazards which include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, working on scaffolds and high places, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and non-skid shoes. The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions with extreme cold or heat, depending on the time of year.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach and pull with hands and arms, climb or balance ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch for prolonged periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include color vision, to discern color-coded wiring, close vision to discern color-coded wiring, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work may vary but typically they are Monday through Friday.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to use power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment and test meters.
Ability to read blueprints.
PLC understanding and troubleshooting

Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree.
A minimum of 5 years of related experience.
