Summary/Objective
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department within the Finishing Plant. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the safety and efficiency of all equipment and systems, and assisting in the implementation of preventive maintenance programs. The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Engineer and is a key contributor to the smooth running of production operations.
Essential Functions

Supervise, train, and manage the performance of the maintenance team, ensuring efficient work processes and timely completion of tasks.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Assign and prioritize work orders, preventive maintenance, and repair tasks to maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment to complete their work.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to plan and execute preventive maintenance programs, minimizing unplanned downtime.
Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues to prevent equipment failure.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment for all maintenance personnel.
Track and document maintenance activities, inventory usage, and work orders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and overall operational efficiency.
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs when necessary.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and company policies.

This position has direct supervisor responsibility for all maintenance technicians.
Work Environment
This job operates in amanufacturingenvironment androutinely uses highly specialized equipment.Theemployeeis frequently exposed to noise, dust, and electrical current. The employee is subject to hazards which include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, working on scaffolds and high places,requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and non-skid shoes.The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions with extreme cold or heat, depending on the time of year.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the candidate must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work on electrical and mechanical equipment; have vision sufficient to perform maintenance; have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour shift must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, climb and work off a ladder; use arms and back to tighten and loosen nuts and bolts; work in confined spaces and wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position within a manufacturing environment which operates a 24 hour per day schedule. Candidates are expected to be flexible on schedule arrangements, including weekends.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Diploma or Certificate in Electrical or Plant Maintenance Program from a certified state technical college or equivalent.
5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Must have reasonable knowledge of complex mechanical and electrical repair procedures, mechanical drive trains and components, basic electrical systems, and plant infrastructure, i.e., chillers, air compressors, and process water systems, etc.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and MVP Plant.
