Landfill Maintenance Worker

Job Summary: This position performs manual labor in support of the maintenance of the county landfill.

Major Duties:

– Picks up paper.
– Empties bag trailer.
– Hauls recyclables, including cardboard, cans, and plastic.
– Cuts grass and weeds.
– Transports fuel.
– Picks up county recycling.
– Sweeps office and maintains a neat and tidy office environment.
– Operates a farm tractor and a truck and trailer.
– Operates lawn maintenance equipment.
– Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

– Knowledge of landfill maintenance principles.
– Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles.
– Skill in the operation of a tractor, truck and trailer.
– Skill in the operation of grounds maintenance equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

– Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
– No experience requirements.
– Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

The successful candidate must complete a Background/Reference Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screening prior to the start of employment.
