The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the organizations Director, Deputy Director, and Executive Officer with the fulfillment of mission requirements. Responsibilities 1. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. 2. Assists in data collecting using existing data systems within the AF to monitor organizational goals and objectives. 3. Reads and processes incoming correspondence and material (e.g. correspondence, reports, memoranda, messages, and other forms of written communication.) 4. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with coworkers, related functions, customers, and operating officials. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Management and Program Clerical and Assistance Series 0344 and Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in providing administrative and technical support by analyzing documents/data to generate reports and identify discrepancies; ability to create documents using automated software by editing drafts and revising spreadsheets; maintaining calendars and scheduling appointments/meetings. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: 4 years above high school NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: For NK-02 level positions only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of clerical or technical procedures and requirements related to management analysis assignments in order to screen phone calls and visitors, and answer routine questions concerning; rules, procedures, or operations applied to administrative and clerical assignments in order to perform the procedural work of the office such as preparing and editing documents and maintaining files/records; and the organizations structure and functions to assist in reviewing proposed changes to organizations and drafting functional statements and organization charts. 2. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to be able to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. 3. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 4. Skill in typing. 5. Ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for routine reports, inquiries, and nontechnical correspondence; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. 6. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
