Our customer in south Macon is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Accounts Payable Specialist to join thier finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and supporting various financial reporting tasks. salary: $21 – $22 per hour

work hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Review and process all accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness before entering them into the system.

Conduct timely weekly payment runs to ensure all vendors are paid on schedule.

Download and prepare month-end journal entries for expenses through Concur.

Assist in general ledger reporting for finance.

Verify and check freight bills, entering them into the accounts payable system as needed.

Prepare and manage 1099 forms in compliance with IRS regulations.

Conduct audits of Certificates of Insurance to ensure compliance with company policies.

Perform W9 audits to maintain accurate vendor information and compliance.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

strong analytical and research skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

High attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial information.

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Quick and efficient in completing tasks while maintaining quality standards.

Understanding of freight and transportation processes is a plus.

Experience working in a paperless environment and proficiency with relevant accounting software.
