This inspector implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations, inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services or operation for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions; ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner, specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished, communicates deficiencies to proper persons, maintains Quality Control files, and document results of all inspections.
Responsibilities
Transportation QC will perform daily inspections of contractor and/or carrier performance of packing crating, loading, shipping, unloading, uncrating, unpacking, and servicing of personal property for compliance with DOD and Service Regulations, Performance Work Statements and Tenders of Service.
Inspector will perform damage inspections. Inspector provides advice on entitlements and method of shipping and mode of shipments. Advises contractor of contract requirements and assist the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in assuring compliance with DPM contracts by contractor.
Prepares and maintains all reports required under DPM contracts Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans. Assist Personal Property section when required in counseling on shipping and storage entitlements, coordinating pickup and delivery dates with carriers/contractors and processing shipping and storage documents utilizing TOPS system.
Qualifications
Candidate must have with 4-6 years of quality control inspector experience in the grade of E-5 to E-6.
High School Diploma or GED certificate.
Must possess a current Driver’s License with clean background of violations that would prevent the operation of Government Owned Vehicles.
