Job Description
ESG Operations, an Inframark Company, is hiring an Electrician to join our team in Moultrie, GA. The essential function of the position is to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical devices throughout the water/wastewater treatment facilities.
Duties and responsibilities
Install, maintain and repair electrical equipment at the plant and other locations.
Check the status of various equipment in the field and make adjustments and repairs as needed.
Respond to alarms and takes corrective actions.
Perform or assists in the overhaul of equipment.
Make equipment adjustments and repairs to maintain operations within predetermined limits.
Restart equipment after an electrical outage.
Installs and repairs electrical panels, starters, lights, heaters, wiring, and other electrical devices.
Switch electrical feeds to operational units such as pumps, feeders, and drives.
Take readings from charts and meters, change charts and keep accurate logs.
Perform maintenance on supervisory control and data acquisition systems.
Calibrate electrical devices.
Perform limited instrument repairs.
Perform routine cleaning of equipment and premises.
Perform tasks in proximity to electrical, chemical, biological, mechanical and physical hazards.
Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies
Work harmoniously with ESG employees and the public and comply with ESG policies
Qualifications
Requires one year of related experience. High School Diploma or GED and the equivalent of specialized vocational training in electrical or a closely related field. Must have a state Driver’s License.
Knowledge of:
Problem Solving – identifying and resolving problems promptly, gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions
Committing to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
Consistency in attendance and punctuality
Maintenance Management System Database software
Skill in:
Using equipment and materials properly
Observing safety and security procedures and in determining appropriate action beyond guidelines
Generating suggestions for improving work and developing innovative approaches and ideas
Handling or using machines, tools, equipment or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items such as hand or power tools, bush hog, or tractor.
Ability to:
Pursue training and development opportunities; continuously build knowledge and skills
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Write routine reports and correspondence
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors. All required safety standards shall be adhered to mitigate risk from moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, heights, blood-borne pathogens, traffic, animals and wildlife, toxic or caustic chemicals, and other identified hazards.
Physical requirements
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
