JOB SUMMARY:
Provides high-level, discipline-specific, technical skills needed for the successful operation and maintenance of audio elements for assigned Entertainment venues, projects, or events, to ensure highest levels of show quality and a positive guest experience. Serves as Lead, with the ability to train others. Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of the technical entertainment department and employees. Works independently, and reports to a Technical Designer or above.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functions as the discipline specific lead assigned to Entertainment venues and/or events. Plans and delegates work tasks among qualified team members. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks.
Actively reinforces company safety guidelines, reports non-compliance. Monitors employee’s productivity and work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property. Maintains material inventories.
Ensures proper completion of documentation. Captures written behaviors and provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement using FYIs and lead observation reports to support management documentation.
Communicates and coordinates with other disciplines and departments as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to Coordinators and Supervisors. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor.
Performs job duties as described in non-lead job descriptions. Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in training and continued development of team members.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Technical school, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Minimum 4 years of experience within the assigned technical discipline.
Preferred:
Minimum 6 years of experience within the assigned technical discipline.
Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Required:
Q-Sys Level 1, Dante Level 1
Preferred:
Q-Sys Level 2, Control Training 201, Control & UCI Fundamentals
Dante Level 2 or 3
SMAART Technologies Software Certification
CTS Certification
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Required:
Expertise in low voltage wiring, standard audio connectors, component troubleshooting techniques, console signal flow/operation, system signal flow/set-up, in set-up of Audio over IP (AoIP) networks and mic placement techniques.
Advance knowledge of digital audio consoles (Yamaha, Digico, Avid), proper usage/set-up of professional wireless microphones (Shure, Sennheiser, etc.).
Experience with installation of large format PA systems (L ’Acoustic K1, K2, Kara, etc.).
Preferred:
Six months to one year experience providing work direction preferred.
