The Florida Research & Innovation Center (FRIC) focuses on basic and translational research related to infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer. Our research team investigates conditions that disproportionately affect Treasure Coast communities, like lymphomas and insect-transmitted viruses.
The Ted Ross Lab focuses on developing vaccines against cancer and respiratory viruses, including influenza, COVID, respiratory syncytial virus, as well as HIV and arboviruses.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am-5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Participate in daily research project activities.
Plan, organize, perform and monitor daily project protocols.
Collect, prepare and maintain required research documentation, including informed consent records, case records, clinical notes and medical reports.
Report and assist with managing protocol deviations, adverse events and other project-related issues.
Be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the lab.
Order and purchase supplies, gather information on new equipment and recommend purchases.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
Four years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associates degree and three years of experience OR a bachelors degree and two years of experience OR a masters degree and one year of experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelors degree with undergraduate lab experience.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to distinguish color
Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.
