Job Summary
The Scholarship Administrator is responsible for the successful management of the Foundation’s multi-million-dollar scholarship portfolio. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate scholarship awarding and is the primary point of contact for the Foundation for needs relating to Foundation scholarship maintenance and assisting the University community with training and other needs. This position also reports on availability and disbursement of Foundation scholarships.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manages Foundation scholarships in the scholarship application system, including adding new scholarship opportunities and updating existing scholarships, maintaining an accurate list of available Foundation scholarships and amounts, maintaining a relevant general application and post acceptance process, and assisting with cycle management. Reviews and manages user setup, scopes, qualifications, renewable scholarships, dashboard cards, etc.
2. Reviews preferred candidates, verifies eligibility of recipients based on criteria of each fund, submits scholarship offers to students and monitors disbursements. Assists the University community with locating candidates for scholarships that are difficult to award as needed. Identifies scholarship criteria issues and report those issues to the Manager of Financial Services.
Monitors and responds to Foundation scholarship related requests from the University community and assists with scholarship training for the University community.
Prepares annual scholarship reminders for donors. Assists with data needs related to scholarship reporting.
Performs weekly comparisons between the scholarship application system and University system, reconciling any differences, to ensure timely identification and correction of issues with scholarship awarding and posting to student accounts. Reviews scholarships with zero qualified candidate to determine fund updates or recruiting efforts that need to be addressed. Performs periodic reviews and updates for enrollment issues to determine scholarships that need to be reversed due to non-enrollment status. Performs monthly review of scholarships awarded to candidates with zero qualification points to determine whether action needs to be taken. Prepares monthly report of unawarded scholarships for distribution to appropriate parties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related area from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two-years related experience and/or training in a business-related field or computer information systems – OR – equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proficiency using Excel.
