General Production Worker

Job Description

-This person will be required to correctly follow all SOP guidelines related to this job

– Correctly following all mix instruction, written or verbal

– Correct use of ingredients

– Checking weights and accurate recording of all lot and bag numbers used

– Sanitation practices of the equipment

– Maintain a clean work area

– Perform minor work to area equipment as needed with supervision

– Lifting of 50-55 lbs on a consistent basis at waist height, or shifting weight side to side

– Confined spaces due to age of building (such as spiral staircases)

– The environment is hot in the non AC areas

– Heights (cat walks above machines) are utilize

GMP REQUIREMENTS:

– This is a food facility, good manufacturing practices are required

– Food allergies must be checked (concerns for those allergic to dairy, nuts, etc.)

– No jewelry, fake nails, fake lashes, chains, watches, rings, etc., may be worn

– Uniforms must be worn at all times

– Steel-toed boots required (above the ankle) and must have them on day one

– A lot of stairs and walking required due to the building

Hard Skills

Must be able to lift 50-55 lbs on a consistent basis

Must be able and willing to train on forklift usage in the future

Previous machine operation experience in manufacturing

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Defiance, Ohio.

Work Environment

Large, older style brick manufacturing building. Additional locations across the street as well. The facility produces dry powder items, like Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix. Can be hot in areas; mixing area is air-conditioned.
