The Main Campus Emergency Department provides top-quality care to patients 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Caregivers treat over 61,000 adult and pediatric patients annually, providing a critical link to healthcare for our community, the region, and the world (through Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport). The number of resources at the Main Campus Emergency Department is vast with pharmacy, respiratory, care management, imaging, a split flow/fast-track area, and a Clinical Decision Unit.

A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening shift – 3:00pm-11:30pm/3:30pm-12:00am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.

Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.

Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.

Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role OR an associates degree and one year of experience OR a bachelors degree.

Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year.

Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Physical Requirements:

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.

In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
