Job Title: General Production Worker

Job DescrOur Clienttion

This is a production position in the manufacturing area of the plant. Candidates will be responsible for weighing materials, mixing polymers in an industrial mixer, assisting in the operation of machinery, or packaging the final product. Ultimately, this candidate will be groomed to move into an SMC Operator on 3rd shift. Candidates must be able to follow written directions on mixing materials, similar to reading an ingredients list when cooking. Other duties include performing quality checks before shipping to ensure customer specifications and delivery requirements are met.

Hard Skills

Solid math skills (basic math: addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions)

Utilizing digital scales to weigh materials

Mixing polymers in an industrial mixer

Machine operation (SMC machines)

Soft Skills

Attention to detail

Ability to follow written directions

Quality control

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in South Bend, Indiana.

Work Environment

The facility smells like paint and acetone (used to flush the industrial mixing valves). The candidate is involved in the molding process but does not directly work with fiberglass components. The environment is hot during the summer months, especially in the curing area where the final product is stored at 107 degrees F. Shifts include 1st shift: 6:30am-3:00pm, 2nd shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm, and 3rd shift: 10:00pm-6:30am.
