PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Work to ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of work
– Focus on cost metrics and objectives to ensure that processes are carried out with a focus on cost reduction
– Adhere to AM General requirements and processes and work to improve those processes where possible
– Promote and maintain a safe and respectful work environment
– Perform Supplier Quality system assessments for risk and opportunity
– Support Supplier selection process and technical reviews
– Work with Suppliers through the supplier APQP process and perform PPAP/Sample submission reviews
– Utilize AIAG methods of PFMEA, Control Plan and MSA throughout the process
– Assist in problem solving non-conformances and issuing Problem Resolution Reports (PRR)/Corrective Actions for Suppliers
– Manage containment, follow- up and preventive actions while driving issues to resolution
– Utilize Practical Problem Solving and Lean-Six-Sigma methodologies throughout the process
– Track Supplier performance metrics and trends to assist in supply base improvement
– Provide support for Quality Department during new model changes and future product development
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
– Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical field
– ASQ Certification (preferred)
– Lean Six-Sigma Certification (preferred)
– 7 years experience in Automotive field with a Supplier Quality focus
– Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TS 16949 required
– Considerable experience in Corrective Actions – 8Ds and 3×5 whys
– Working knowledge of PFMEA, SPC and Control Plan
– Working knowledge of (AIAG) Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
– Working knowledge of dimensional GDandT, check fixtures, measurement systems analysis and Statistical Process control
– Strong proficiency in SAP, Team Center, Microsoft Office Applications, including considerable experience with Sharepoint
– Strong communication skills
– Proficiency in problem solving and problem solving methodologies
PHYSICAL EFFORT
– Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
– Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
– Hand-Eye Coordination: must be able to regularly coordinate ones eyes with ones fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks
– Manual Dexterity: must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movement with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as phone, computer, and other office equipment, tools, or controls
– Agility: must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks, including the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, Companys pro erty surrounding facility, or additional work areas
– Climbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balance
– Lifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
– Physical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups
– Stamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time, including performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
