Description
AM General is hiring Production Employees to support our JLTV A2 Launch. AM General Hourly employees are represented by the UAW and together the Company and the Union strive to create a working environment that supports and develops it workforce.
Requirements and Skills:
– Must be able to work on a contract basis for the first 30 days. That time will be credited toward any benefits with a time worked requirement
– Must be able to read and follow standardized work and job instructions
– Must have basic computer skills
– Previous manufacturing experience is preferred
– Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
– Communicate effectively with other employees in assigned zone and attend all zone meetings, problem solving sessions, training, etc.
– May be required to learn multiple jobs
– Must be able to use assigned hand tools, power tools, and torque tools
– Shift start time 5:00 am or 10am (subject to change)
Primary Duties Include:
– Assemble/drill parts in accordance with standardized work and job instructions
– Confirm quality of work performed
– Technical capacity to run equipment within the facility
– Must be able to use assigned hand tools, power tools, and torque tools
– Operation of material handling equipment including forklifts
– Works and communicates with other employees
– Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with safety rules
– Maintain clean working environment

Wages
These wages reflect the JLTV start up wages. They will increase annually and there is opportunity to move into other programs with seniority
New Hire Production Operator: $18.20
New Hire Materials Operator: $17.00
New Hire Quality Operator: $17.00
