Quality Reviewer

Briljent is seeking a Quality Reviewer to conducts quality reviews of organizations that provide services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) receiving state and/or federal Medicaid funding.

Duties:

– Ensures quality supports are aligned with person-centered principles.
– Strives to fulfill the BQIS mission with the following values: integrity, innovation, purpose, strength-based and person-centeredness.
– Champions the continued implementation of person-centered practices and the Life Course Framework in support of all people to live, love, work, play and pursue their life aspirations in their community.
– Provides technical assistance and delivers training to providers to address issues identified within individual reviews, investigations, or through aggregation and analysis of information over time.
– Conducts interviews with individuals with I/DD, their families, case managers, and provider staff.
– Conducts exit interviews with providers that give feedback of strengths of their program and any deficiencies or issues that need to be addressed.
– Provides technical assistance and delivers training as needed as part of the review and corrective action planning process.
– Conducts follow up reviews on-site and via telephone within required time frames.
– Inputs results of reviews into database and forms accurately and within required timeframes.
– Submits written reports that are complete and within required timeframes.
– Achieves and maintains set standards of inter-rater reliability on all reviews conducted in the assigned areas of responsibility. The expectation is to achieve and maintain an 85% inter-rater reliability score for each review/survey tool.
– Recommends referrals to Bureau of Quality Improvement Services, per established protocols when review results indicate need.
– Attends regular meetings with other staff and supervisor as scheduled.
– Reports any witnessed or suspected cases of abuse or neglect discovered during onsite reviews according to established FSSA policy.
– Communicates regularly with Review Manager and management staff through a variety of activities including notification of issues, problems and successes as they occur.
– Travels to service and provider sites for reviews, necessitating reliable transportation.
– Ensures quality supports are aligned with person-centered principles.

– Performs other duties (not outlined above) as assigned by Employer.

### Requirements

– Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, education, criminal justice, etc.
– Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
– Effective communication skills – non-defensive, fact-based, clear and concise speech.
– Demonstrated skills in interviewing techniques.
– Accuracy in gathering and interpreting information.
– Independence in organization and implementation of work.
– Flexibility with scheduling.
– Knowledge of best practices in at least one area of community-based services.
– Experience with I/DD; CMS Home and Community Based Services (HCBS); Quality Improvement; and Indiana 460 IAC Article 6 and 7 is preferred.
– Working knowledge of person-centered practices with children and adults who have an intellectual or other developmental disability, including an understanding of the Life Course Framework, is highly desirable.
