Overview
Our client has a need for cable technicians of all skill levels. This group will work exclusively on a project to build out cabling infrastructure. The role will be to assist high level technical leads in building out one of the largest data centers in America. Your responsibilities will include: pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate fiber, installing cable trays and pathways, and building server racks. More than likely Techs will start out installing cable trays and building server racks.
This position is the start to an IT Networking Career.
Description
This position will work in a commercial business environment both outdoor and indoor. The majority of work is indoor and will assist with maintaining the cable infrastructure for Data Center settings. The position works for an enterprise level company to provide services including data, phone, internet, security, and digital workplace infrastructure. This is a start to a trade career, in which you can work your way up through the ranks with a reputable company.

1st shift Hours
Monday-Friday, some Saturdays as required
10 hours shifts, during peak season
Indoor work
Overview
You will assist higher level technicians and team leads in building out cable networks. You will be trained and expected to work independently in:
Pulling Cable/Fiber
Laying Fiber/Cable
Learning Color Codes
Rerouting & Mounting
Punchdown and Terminations
Installing Cable Trays and Pathways
Building Server Racks
Day-to-Day
All work is indoor at one location, there is no travel involved.
Learn to follow blueprints from supervisors direction.
Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables.
Dispose of old/outdated devices.
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
Terminate low-voltage devices.
Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method.
Install a work area outlet for floor (i.e. monument), and wall (i.e. box eliminator).
Route cable through data center.
Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze.
Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
