The Trek University training team is hiring a Retail Trainer to produce effective curriculum that helps retail employees generate more sales and provide better experiences for their customers.
You will be directly responsible for all parts of the training content creation process and help support the success of Trek’s network of bicycle retailer partners.
You will collaborate with other departments within Trek including Retail, Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to create and deliver training content via online video, print materials, and in-person training events.
A primary responsibility for this role is creating content to support learning and development for Store Managers and other customer-facing roles in bicycle retail.
This position is based out of our global headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin where cows vastly outnumber people, and the cheese curds always squeak.

Job Responsibilities:
Research curriculum topics with various subject matter experts supporting retail.
Write and review video scripts, shot lists, quizzes, and supporting documents.
Read scripts on camera for training videos.
Provide timely and specific feedback for video editors.
Meet regularly with Marketing, Retail, and Product leadership to identify training opportunities.
In-person training for new Store Managers, Sales Associates, and Service Advisors.
Requirements:
Great communication skills within the organization and outside (knows their audience, has a clear message, gives the plan and calls the viewer to action).
Aptitude to balance multiple projects and timelines simultaneously with a whatever-it-takes attitude to meet deadlines.
Fortitude to receive brutally honest feedback from stakeholders and reconcile it into a final product that satisfies all.
Excellent copywriting, proofing, and editing skills.
Ability to present training material in a fun and engaging way both on-camera and in-person.
‘Learn it all’ attitude with an openness to new ideas.
2 years’ experience in bicycle or outdoor retail (understands the specific needs of the bicycle retailer and can cater training material to meet those needs)
