Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The RN Supervisor-Unit provides leadership and management for unit operations as well as clinical and financial performance, in collaboration with the staff and leadership. This individual plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities and services to promote clinical excellence and program growth and development. The RN Supervisor-Unit serves as a leader and role model for staff and is an active participant in organizational and nursing department decision-making. The skills and functions of the Supervisor are both managerial as well as clinical nursing practice based.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Diploma or associate degree in nursing.
Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years’ experience in acute care or related healthcare experience.
Preferred/Optional: None
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Applicable State Registered Nurse license or Nurse Compact License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
