In-Person – Not Remote General Position Summary: The preferred candidate
will have demonstrated competence in teaching, research, advising,
service, and curriculum development. This position teaches both didactic
and practicum courses for the Biology and Science programs. This
position requires teaching 12 to 15 credits per academic semester and
leading a College of Arts and Sciences. Key Responsibilities: TEACHING
Deliver classroom instruction and supervise students in both lecture and
lab studies using culturally relevant pedagogy. Prepare and present off
campus courses, workshops, seminars, and in-service training as needed
Design, prepare, and provide laboratory, instruction, supervision, and
other associated responsibilities Utilize University sanctioned
technology and adhere to established course syllabi and academic
policies Assess student performance through tests, papers, examinations
and other evaluative methods and document grades and attendance in a
timely manner Provide academic advisement and support to students beyond
their registration needs Supervise and evaluate co-curricular student
learning experiences which includes student and faculty collaborative
research Contribute to the development and evaluation of new courses and
programs, and update existing curricula needs. Develop relationships
with tribal environmental resource management entities and create
co-curricular and post-graduation opportunities for students. Select and
procure instructional materials; periodically evaluate library holdings
and recommend new acquisitions. Participate in the development of new
courses and programs of study as well as the ongoing review and updating
of current curriculum Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief
Academic Officer ADVISING Assist students in planning their academic
programs and course schedules Maintain accurate student records,
including degree audits and contact logs using University sanctioned
technology Refer students to appropriate resources for non-academic
support and ensure confidentiality in all interactions SCHOLARSHIP
Conduct research leading to new discoveries of and applications of
existing knowledge Publish research findings in scholarly journals or
books, engage in ongoing reading and research to maintain proficiency
and growth in scholarship, service, and teaching. SERVICE Represent the
University in various capacities, including program marketing and
student recruitment at local high schools and fulfills all relevant
grant responsibilities and reporting Participate in the program advisory
committees, community and cultural activities, and University-sponsored
events such as student orientation graduations Develops and serves on
committees and task forces and attends regularly scheduled community or
board meetings Participation in community and cultural activities to
support Lac Courte Oreilles, and designated outreach locations

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree
in a Life Science or a masters degree plus a minimum of 18 graduate
credits in life sciences, biology, biochemistry, endocrinology,
pathology, physiology, medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, or a
combination of credits in these disciplines Position requires
demonstrated knowledge and experience in a broad range of biological
research Ability to teach courses such as Anatomy and Physiology I and
II, Microbiology, Genetics, Medical Lab Tech Clinical, and Biochemistry
