We support not only women in our culturally diverse community, but also support women across the state whom may need additional attention due to a high risk pregnancy or fetal diagnosis.
With our partnership with the University of MN, the Birthplace supports the development of student nurses and residents through onsite observation and training. This addition also helps continue to improve our evidence based practice and ongoing professional learning!
Newborn Family Care Center-Postpartum:
24 beds Mom/Baby private rooms
Couplet Care, average of 3 couplets day/evening shift, 4 couplets night shift.
Care delivery team: RN and NST/NA.
Professional growth encouraged in professional certifications and/or IBCLC.
Inpatient Lactation Consultant on unit.
Newborn IV antibiotic administration.

This position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.
Responsibilities Job Description
Provides postpartum care for the newly delivered mother and her newborn infant.
Manages complex medication and infusion therapies
Performs advanced monitoring using current technology
Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
Qualifications
Required:
Must have at least 1 year of nursing experience
MN RN license
BLS for healthcare providers
Current NRP certification or ability to attain within 6 months of hire
Preferred:
BSN
1 year of experience in high-risk areas of medical surgical nursing or OB
