Need 4 full time, temporary, seasonal Livestock Workers to work in Medicine Lake, MN. From: 12/15/2024 to 4/15/2025 Work: 40 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day. 8:00am – 5:00pm. As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 02/14/2025 JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs with feed, and waters livestock. Maintain heated watering system equipment. Cleans livestock stalls, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Examines animals to detect diseases and injuries, applies medications to cuts and bruises, spray livestock with insecticide. Vaccinates animals, Confines livestock in stalls, washes and clips them to prepare them for calving and assists veterinarian in delivery of offspring. Binds or clamps testes or surgically removes testes to castrate livestock. Clips identifying notches or symbols on animal, or brand animal, using branding iron, to indicate ownership. Maintain buildings and equipment. Operates equipment, hauls hay and grain. Operating snow equipment. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of (3) months experience required. Able to lift 100 lbs. Must be willing to obtain drivers license (class D) within two months of employment. If applicant does have a license, applicant must furnish employer with current drivers abstract showing acceptable driving record. No high school diploma/GED required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
