GENERAL SUMMARY The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing after-sale field service responsibilities of all DeZURIK, Inc. products used in the Water Industries, as well as, products produced by DeZURIK, Inc. but used in other industries. This objective is accomplished by taking prompt corrective action that is satisfactory to all parties involved. In addition, the Field Service Engineer is also responsible for providing technical expertise to all areas of DeZURIK, Inc., including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, R&D and Manufacturing. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Perform technical field service on all DeZURIK, Inc. products in direct communication with customers, representatives and vendors at all levels. Perform Field Design modifications to correct Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing errors. Analyze customer specifications and requirements as they relate to DeZURIK, Inc., produces supplies and verify that the products are installed and operating satisfactorily. Advise the customer and DeZURIK, Inc. if the product problem is within the specification, product or system construction. Provide quotes of service training, service parts and determine warranty. Provide system analysis and make verbal and written recommendations to customer on improving production process. Furnish written reports that summarize in detail the events and activities performed during each service call. Furnish thorough written and verbal communication and technical information necessary for product design and manufacture in regard to quality, design, installation and maintenance and application. Manage personal expenses, which exceed $60k per year. Perform technical inside field service on all DeZURIK, Inc. product calls coming from reps and customers, and coordinate activities with Engineers and Contractors. Maintain accurate records of field service calls, actions, Rep repairs etc. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma plus a 2-year Engineering degree or equivalent. 2 years of work experience with a strong mechanical and electrical background with electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Comprehensive knowledge of DeZURIK, Inc. products and systems. Must be self-motivated, decisive and able to cordially adapt to demands placed on this position. Must be able to tactfully communicate about demanding problems, deadlines and dollar costs with customers. Must understand and be able to satisfy quality requirements of Manufacturing, Engineering and the Customer s specifications. Know how to network with the different constituents at a job site in order to gain support to resolve the problems. Must complete OSHA 30 training (online) within 1 year of hire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone. Position requires movement around the facilities. Occasional handling of material and components. May have contact with caustic substances. Travel for the company both domestic and international. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
