Astera Health has an opening for a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician . This position is pivotal in processing and preparing medication orders and prescriptions, procuring medications, reporting appropriate statistics, and maintaining in-date pharmaceuticals for patients. This position is full time: 80 hours per bi-weekly payroll, Monday – Friday with shifts ranging from 7:30am – 5:00pm, and every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation working 7:30am – 12:30pm. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepares medication to be replaced in automated dispensing machines, cart fill orders, and other med orders to be administered to patients
Assist in maintaining and auditing logs for recordkeeping for controlled substances, hard copy prescriptions, EPIC production labels, etc
Properly fills and charges medication orders for departments
Assists pharmacists in maintaining adequate supplies of pharmaceuticals, IV solutions, medication supplies, etc
Manages inventory by ordering and receiving medications
Competencies required include:
Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of computers and technology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Commitment to providing excellent customer service, patient care and overall experience
Education and experience required:
High School Diploma
Graduate of Pharmacy Technician Program with CPht Certification
