Sexton – Sunburst Cemetery

North Toole County seeks a Part – Time Sexton of the Sunburst Cemetery. This is a Part – Time Seasonal Position – approximately 40 to 50 hours a month – May 1st thru August 30th. Applicant will be in charge of all maintenance of Cemetery Grounds in Sunburst, MT.
Job Summary: Plans operations, maintenance and improvements of the cemetery: supervises laborers and participates in the digging, preparation, refilling and maintenance of trees and other plants; creates and maintains cemetery watering system; performs routine maintenance on minor equipment; plans, prepares and maintains records for cemetery burial plots; works with public in determining and maintaining records for the correct place of burial; work with public, funeral directors and sales persons involving preparation for and maintenance of burial plots and head stones; assists in preparing and monitoring annual department budget; supervise personnel, including recommendation for hire and fire, scheduling of leave, etc.; maintain and make such reports to governmental agencies as required.
Duties: Mow & weed eat regularly during spring, summer, & fall. Remove dead & artificial flowers, containers, etc. Maintain lawn in an attractive & healthy condition. Ensure the graves are properly prepared before & after burial services (i.e., opening & closing graves) other duties as assigned

Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalency, or one (1) year of grounds and equipment maintenance experience. A Valid Drivers License with a good driving record. Familiarity with equipment used (mower, weed eater, etc), Ability to lift & carry moderate weights & perform all physical duties of the position, occasionally in bad weather, Experience with cemetery care, preferred.
