About the Position

We are looking for a Transload Operator to manage and operate the fuel transloading operation from railcar to transport truck and ensure safe and productive operation of the facility. This position will operate equipment associated with all functional areas including fuel quality control standards, record keeping, compliance, and communications with co-workers and vendors; load bulk over the road (OTR) trucks with jet fuel using facility mobile transloaders and is accountable for the overall performance of the fuel transloading operation. The successful candidate will develop strong teamwork approach in maintaining good relations with customers, drivers, co-workers, and suppliers in a professional and profitable manner with honesty and integrity. After the initial training period, the schedule will be 6:00am – 3:00pm, Thursday through Monday, with occasional evening work. The schedule is subject to change regularly to accommodate fuel orders.

You’ll report to the Logistics Manager, working out of our Butte, MT location, focusing on these key responsibilities:

Ensures fuel remains on-specification throughout the chain of custody.

Assists with compliance requirements by Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and other regulatory agencies.

Loads trucks from railcars in yard using mobile transloading equipment.

Communicates with drivers, the transloading team, and the corporate office.

Troubleshoots and analyzes control systems to resolve software/ hardware, loading, and configuration problems.

Enters and maintains inventory and activity data into the appropriate reporting system with accuracy.

Ensures equipment is properly maintained and serviced.

Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items, as necessary.

Receives and catalogs any incoming parts and/or supplies, coordinates packing slips with purchase orders.

Completes and records inspections and quality control/quality assurance as required, and interfaces with co-workers and supervisor for any updates, instructions, and changes.

Proactively maintains and completes preventive maintenance practices on equipment and/or coordinates with appropriate vendor for maintenance.

Accurately manages and records expenses and invoices.

Performs duties safely and responsibly while always observing all safety and health rules.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.

Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative mechanical maintenance on system, heavy equipment, and other general equipment on site; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and characteristics.

Aptitude for multiple disciplines and proficient in the operation of equipment associated with all functional areas.

Ability to complete written documentation and records with basic computer skills.

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and other labor tools.

Effective communication skills: ability to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.

Must have a team player attitude with high-level of self-motivation requiring minimal supervision.

A willingness to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as nature of transloading operation is subject to supply and availability.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Ability to work outdoors and be exposed to varying weather conditions (i.e.: heat, wet, cold, etc.).

Ability to sit, stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull and push.

Flexibility with scheduling – will require working on weekends and holidays
