One Revenue Cycle (ORC) is the name adopted to reflect the Providence employees who work throughout Providence Health & Services (PH&S) in revenue cycle systems and structures in support of our ministries and operations in all regions from Alaska to California. ORCs objective is to ensure our core strategy, One Ministry Committed to Excellence, is delivered along with the enhanced overall patient care experience (know me, care for me, ease my way) by providing a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized revenue cycle expertise.

The Scheduling Specialist is accountable for scheduling various types of patient appointments from simple office visits to complex procedures. This may include coordinating schedules with multiple providers, specialized equipment, and other specialized resources. Complexity of this position is evidenced by the use of simple and complex medical terminology and enterprise scheduling protocols. The scheduling specialist; displays professional interpersonal skills and presence when communicating with physicians, staff and the public; as the front-line customer service representative, upholds and exhibits the core values in all communication. It is essential that this information be documented timely and accurately.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated outstanding customer service experience.
  • Clerical and computer experience.
  • 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training
  • Registrar, scheduler and third party payor experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
