Position Overview
International Procurement is looking for a Sourcing and Readiness team member to join our New Product Launch Team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for managing all Purchasing activities, for your assigned direct material categories, from the initial part release through new product launch. You will be responsible for delivering against the key program objectives in terms of timing, total cost, and quality. This includes quoting and sourcing per the predefined category strategy and managing your supplier readiness and component industrialization from tool kick off through product / program launch. This is a highly visible, very challenging and rewarding position in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Being the liaison between the Sourcing and Readiness Team and the CMT’s (Category Management Teams) for your assigned commodities. Provide open and frequent status updates.
Interact with supplier partners and internal cross functional teams to source products, per the CMT strategy, that meet the cost and timing targets for the program.
Negotiate all aspects of cost, piece price, tooling, packaging etc.,
Support program CCB meetings to review cost and tooling outliers
Support and resolve PUR (parts without contract) issues that impact the programs’ ability to line set units per program required timing.
Work collaboratively with supplier partners and the procurement program management team (PPM’s) to support all program build events.
Create implementation plans with suppliers that support program timelines.
Triage supplier implementation and launch readiness plans for early risk identification.
Develop cross functional risk mitigate plans.
Manage tight deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment.
Conduct regular report outs on the work status.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
Master’s degree
At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
At least 7 years of purchasing/procurement experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Familiarity with truck and / or engine products and components desirable
Familiarity with metal components and manufacturing processes is an advantage
Experienced with basic blueprint reading and interpretation
A strong understanding of Procurement desirable
Excellent project management, organizational skills
Strong communication and presentation skills for report out and status updates to all levels within the organization
New Product Development Implementation experience desirable
Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers.
Negotiation experience
Critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task
Proactive approach to complex problem solving
The ability to prioritize work.
