Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

No experience or training is required.

NOTE:

May be required to possess a valid Louisiana drivers license or commercial drivers license.

Job Concepts

Function of Work:

To operate light mobile equipment to accomplish transportation, maintenance, or construction tasks.

Level of Work:

Experienced.

Supervision Received:

General from a Foreman or other supervisor or administrator or higher level maintenance personnel.

Supervision Exercised:

May exercise leadworker responsibility over laborers or other lower graded personnel.

Location of Work:

May be used by all agencies, statewide.

Job Distinctions:

Differs from laboring classes by the requirement to operate light mobile equipment and/or vehicles as a primary, regular, and recurring duty.

Differs from Mobile Equipment Operator 1 by the restriction to primary operation of lighter mobile equipment.

Examples of Work

60% – Operation of a variety of various types of equipment as primary recurring function. This includes front rotary mowers with power rating of 14 to 30 horsepower, small lawn or turf tractors trailer and a sidewalk sweeper.

20% – Operates pick-up trucks or vans up to and including 1 ton rating.

15% – Makes minor repairs to equipment and performs user maintenance necessary to keep equipment clean and in working order.

5% – Other duties as assigned
