This job is a member of the Legal Team within the Corporate Affairs Division.
Responsible for providing support to attorneys in the labor, employment, and benefits group of the Company’s legal department including basic legal research, drafting or legal communications, management of information and grievances, and litigation and arbitration support.
What youll do
Supervise/train temporary and permanent paralegals on the Labor & Employment team
Assist in pending litigation and arbitrations, including coordination of complicated data/discovery requests and responses in both single-plaintiff and class action litigation.
Work with outside counsel and expert witnesses to gather information for responses to administrative charges, defense of litigation, and arbitration support, and analyze data to ensure it meets outside counsel and expert witness specifications
Maintain information related to grievances and arbitration decisions
Coordinate scheduling of arbitration hearings, including communicating with arbitrators and union representatives
Prepare document hold memoranda and coordination of same
Assist with immigration-related petitions, interact with various governmental agencies on immigration matters, and maintain immigration files
Assist with responses to administrative agency charges, including drafting comprehensive chronologies to assist attorneys
Maintain status reports for litigation and administrative charges
Monitor status of international litigation docket
All youll need for success
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
Seven years’ experience as a labor and employment paralegal, including at least 2 years working in corporate legal department
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
Degree in paralegal studies or certification
Supervisory experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Excellent problem-solving skills and judgment
Outstanding organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
