Job/Position DescriptionOVERVIEWThe shift schedule for this position will be a 7:00PM-4:00AM shift with Thursday and Friday off. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are required for After Hours ResponseAfterhours Response investigators focus exclusively on Priority 1 calls during evening, night, and weekend shifts. A key advantage of this role is the absence of a caseload. Afterhours Response investigators prioritize resolving as much of the case as possible during their shift, including removing children from dangerous situations, before transferring the case to day staff.Afterhours Response handles a wide range of Priority 1 cases, such as serious child injuries, fatalities, drug-endangered children, and sexual abuse. Due to the nature of these cases, collaboration with law enforcement is common. Investigators may also participate in forensic interviews at childrens advocacy centers.This role provides extensive on-the-job experience and exposure to critical cases, offering a learning opportunity that many day staff investigators may not encounter.Child Protective Investigations (CPI) Investigators investigate claims of child abuse and neglect. They have the difficult task of figuring out what happened and predicting what will happen in the future. CPI receives and investigates reports of abuse and neglect 24 hours per day, every day of the year. A CPI investigation includes interviewing and gathering information to see if abuse or neglect happened and if intervention is necessary.
