Summary:

The Lab Technician assist operational department in day-to-day lab operations involving material. They perform routine technical tasks, including operating and maintaining equipment, as well as conducting analysis and experimental procedures. is responsible for the testing and operations of the Lab operations.

Experience:

A minimum one year experience working on a similar position or a steel plant laboratory.

High School Diploma required.

Primary Scope:

Lab Technician will prepare specimens for testing to perform various destructive tests and analysis to determine properties and characteristics of material.

Lab Technician is required to use measuring equipment (i.e., dial calipers, micrometers, pit gauges, etc.) in the performance of various evaluations.

The Lab Tech will record data in a legible, systematic manner and according to RDT, Inc. standards. Data is used in the preparation of various Test Reports and Certificates of Compliance.

All Lab reports must be completed in a timely manner to ensure information is available before product is inspected.

Lab Technician may be requested to support other operational functions in the Heath Treatment department.

Lab Technician is required to adhere to all safety guidelines to protect him/her self and other employees while performing his/her activities.

Lab Technician shall practice good housekeeping both in the Lab area and HT floor.
