Summary About the Position: Serves as Equipment Specialist for AMEDD Center/School located on Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Army Medical Department Center and School is located at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Center is where the Army Medical Department formulates its medical organization, tactics, doctrine, and equipment. Responsibilities Develops innovative procedures and channels of communications to gather information on highly complex/unique equipment and unusual problems. Monitors projects throughout the development and testing process to ensure adequate assessment of operational effectiveness, suitability, and survivability. Prepares Contract Statements of Work as required for submission to the AMEDDBD Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and is responsible for verifying that contractual services provided were complete and met contractual requirements. Responsible for the preparation of test resource requirements documents (Outline Test Plans (OTPs) and Resume Sheets (RSs) for submission to the appropriate BattleLab or to ATEC as required. As Test Officer, manages the conduct of operational tests in support of items in the acquisition process and personally observes test conduct. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes testing and evaluating medical and medical related equipment, automated information/technology systems, and subsystems, including uses, physical properties; applying research and development of current and evolving medical technology to prospective medical materials, organizations, training, and doctrine; and verifying medical equipment contract services provided are complete and meet contractual requirements. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Mechanical Planning and Evaluating Systems Testing and Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
