AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), were excited to be growing and hiring Solution Architects to work with our Enterprise customers in transforming their business. We are looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner with some of the worlds largest companies, AWS Sales and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers. As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand leading practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. We work backwards from our customer strategic objectives to help them determine the appropriate technology path to follow in order to create value for their business and their customers.
Key job responsibilities
As a key member of the SA team, ensure success in designing, building and modernizing applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
Provide architectural guidance and recommendations on running applications efficiently and reliably on AWS platform.
Demonstrated communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas to a non-technical audience with an ability to connect technology with measurable business value.
Participate in deep architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS while crafting solutions that are designed for deployment in the cloud.
Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as blogs, white papers, and proof of concepts.
Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS cloud.
Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute strategies to achieve business outcomes through the adoption of the AWS platform.
Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
Capture and share leading practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architect community.
Please note, this role requires domestic travel up to 25%.
A day in the life
You will have the opportunity to work inside our enterprise account team architects to help Enterprise customers accelerate their cloud implementation to modernize their business on AWS. Working with these customers, you will help them transform existing workloads by designing modern target architectures optimized for business agility, innovation, performance, resiliency, cost, security, and more using both native and partner solutions. Our teams focus on understanding customer key business drivers as well as the existing application architecture(s) to deliver a technical recommendation to the customer with a goal of designing a robust cloud architecture that can scale as their business requires.

Basic Qualifications
– 8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
– 3 years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
– 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications
– 5 years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
– Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
– Experience working with end user or developer communities
