About the Role:? Imagine yourself as a Compressor Operator, playing a crucial role in the operation, surveillance, and troubleshooting of natural gas engines, compressors, and pumps. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also focus on the effective functioning of flares and Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs), diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities:

Operational Activity:

– Monitoring flare systems and VRUs to ensure compliance and efficiency, troubleshooting any malfunctions swiftly.
– Experienced engine and compressor operator with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors and the public
– Experience in the following: CAT, Waukesha, Cummins, Detroit engines and Ariel, Ajax, Gemini and GE compressors.
– Deliver natural gas to pipeline delivery point to meet customer requirements both internally and externally into plant
– Communicate with plant about production, issues or maintenance
– Perform diagnostics, responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities, pipeline, and equipment as needed
– Ability to tune and make adjustments with Caterpillar ET computer program
– Experience working with high-speed reciprocating Ariel compressors
– Troubleshoot compressor valves, identify and repair compressor packing leaks
– Capable of basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment. Also capable of repairing some equipment, such as actuators and level alarms and of changing out fuses, relays, etc.

Physical Requirements:

– Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders, and stairs.
– Walking, bending, and stooping are required.
– Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including the use of a respirator.
– Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms

Minimum Qualifications:

– 2 years of compressor operator experience; Highly knowledgeable with all troubleshooting, Experience troubleshooting VRUs and Flares a must.
– 2years of troubleshooting and maintenance of Ariel, Waukesha, or Caterpillar Compressor experience a must.
– Working knowledge of oil and gas production operations required
– Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision.
– Candidate must reside within a 50-mile range of Pecos, Texas.
– High School Diploma or GED equivalent requirec. Some college or technical training preferred.
– Valid Drivers License with an excellent driving record
