Implement day-to-day operations of P30 program, including all program components and processes.

Monitor all program financial accounts including monthly review; adherence to all applicable policies and procedures;; and ensuring accurate and appropriate financial reporting to sponsors.

Administer pertinent university fiscal policies and procedures, and state, federal, OMB Circular A21, and sponsor policies and standards applicable to business management of projects and the unit (personnel, accounting, auditing, etc.).

Draft budgets for federal, state, industry, university and private sponsors for grants, fellowships and contracts.

Maintain a program budget oversight system that includes both summary and detailed accounting of activities across all funding sources that allows for accurate projections of expenditures.

Provide purchasing services for the programs including commercial Procurement card allocations, purchase orders, travel arrangements and reimbursements.

Communicate timelines, collect and submit all necessary components for applications and reporting progress reports including outcome tables, member publications, core utilization, surveys, biosketches etc..

Monitor DRC Core facilities including assisting with preparation of annual cost study, budget, iLABs and utilization reporting.

Sr. Professional Level

Prepare monthly financial and funding forecasting reports and provide interpretation of program financial accounts to principal investigators.

Provide oversight of DRC Core facilities including preparation of annual cost study submission. Provide accurate projections to core directors and make recommendations regarding budgets, member discounts, and management of core revenue and DRC support.

Provide oversight of all purchasing activities ensuring adherence to university and sponsor policies and procedures.

Prepare budgets for submission to federal, state, industry, university and private sponsors for grants, fellowships and contracts.

Program Administration (40%)

Maintain DRC databases to track member distribution lists, P&F applicants, and metrics of program success including member publications, collaborations, core utilization enrichment participation etc…

Coordinate implementation of the DRC Pilot and Feasibility Program (P&F) including adhering to the timeline, collecting human subject and animal research compliance documentation, communications, logistics, evaluation and reporting.

Draft P&F RFA to meet the changing priorities of the program.

Plan and implement DRC annual internal and external advisory board meetings to review, assess, and advise program performance, resource utilization, and future distribution of resources.

Organize regular meetings with directors and stakeholders to ensure coordination and integration of activities.

Collaborate with DRC leadership to create and distribute surveys to assess quality, productivity, and equitable distribution of core resources.

Develop reports to communicate relevant data to leadership and inform future decision making.

Implement the DRC Enrichment Program including developing promotional materials and marketing plan to promote attendance, recruiting presenters & judges, implementing a judging rubric, and tracking attendance and monitoring success. Make recommendations and implement solutions to improve attendance, logistics, and/or audience satisfaction.

Sr. Professional Level

Responsible for implementation of DRC Pilot and Feasibility Program. Work with core director to develop and implement timeline, communications, logistics, evaluation and reporting. Set up project speedtypes and provide financial oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level

A bachelors degree in business, management, public administration, communications, database administration, finance, accounting or a directly related field or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis

Intermediate Level

A bachelors degree in business, management, public administration, communications, database administration, finance, accounting or a directly related field or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience in research program administration.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Senior Level

A bachelors degree in business, management, public administration, communications, database administration, finance, accounting or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience in research program administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience coordinating and managing administrative and financial activities in a university research setting.

Previous research administration experience in an academic setting

Knowledge and experience with UCD fiscal policies and procedures pertaining to finance, human resources, and grants and contracts.

Experience with Smart Sheets or REDCap

Experience with maintaining a website

Experience in developing administrative structures to support the management and oversight of programs including the collection of outcomes and other research focused data

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
