Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Translate design questions into research plans that produce insight and inspiration for product strategy and product design
Analyze and represent research findings such that the team has a clearer understanding of the key design problems on which to focus
Use customer intents/motivations, experience maps, and other visuals to represent insights about users or competitors
Work closely with project teams to deliver research findings from multiple data sources (usability testing, usage metrics, survey data, etc.) as appropriate
Share actionable findings and prioritized recommendations with teams on a regular basis
Exhibit excellent interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills
Have the ability to quickly learn and adapt in a fast-paced, highly interactive and adaptive environment
Collaborate and iterate with Product Management, Voice of the Customer, Quantitative Researchers, and Marketing to design and deliver elegant but practical solutions that delight customers
Conduct user tests, research, and experiments to capture and understand real users’ motivations, goals, and pain points; facilitate design sprints and other discovery sessions as needed
Have a willingness to learn new programs and choose the right tool/method for the task at hand
Collaborate with Voice of the Customer team to review product analytics data, customer service contacts, and social media feedback to monitor current product usage patterns and identify future areas of enhancement
Present your work to various stakeholders, explaining how customer insights align with, or could influence, product goals
Continuously evangelize customer-centricity throughout the organization
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or Masters degree in Design, Psychology, Ethnography, or related field
3 years of UX Research experience at consumer-focused product companies with a track record of shipping many features/products over the years
3 years performing research within a design or product organization – working closely with various teams and stakeholders (Design, Marketing, Engineering, etc.)
3 years experience creating and executing research plans (facilitating interviews, performing usability testing, building surveys, etc.)
Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive experience conducting user testing and research – this includes both moderated and unmoderated studies as well as remote research
Proficiency and familiarity with common testing platforms (UserZoom, User Interviews, Usability Hub, Optimal Workshop, Lookback, etc.)
Passion for digital video, streaming, and TV industries. Direct experience with video streaming product research is a huge plus
Ability to communicate customer insights clearly and effectively across all functions and levels of the organization
Sees customer problems as opportunities and obsesses over finding the most useful customer insights
Fluent in the latest design trends and research practices
Online portfolio that shows strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $72,400.00/Year – $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the roles location and is subject to change based on work location.
